Privacy Policy

Packerly is built to keep your travel plans yours. We designed it so that, in normal use, your packing data never touches a Packerly server. This policy explains, in plain language, what data exists, where it lives, and the few moments it leaves your devices.

The short version

• No accounts, no sign-up, no passwords.
• No advertising, and no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs in the app.
• Your trips and lists live on your device and in your own iCloud.
• AI features only run when you turn them on, and only send what’s needed for that request.
• We never sell your data or use it to train models.

Where your data lives

Your trips, packing lists, bags, and settings are stored on your device and synced through Apple’s CloudKit into your personal iCloud private database. That data is tied to your Apple Account, not to Packerly — we have no servers that store your lists and no way to read them. If you turn off iCloud for Packerly, your data simply stays local to each device.

AI features

Packerly’s AI features — Conjure a trip, the Packing Copilot, Snap to Pack, and smart reviews — are optional. They run only when you have an active Packerly AI subscription and you explicitly use a feature. When you do, the relevant prompt and trip context (for example, your destination, dates, and current list) are sent to our AI provider — OpenAI or Google, reached through our proxy — solely to generate that suggestion and return it to you.

That content is not used to train models, is not sold, and is not associated with an identity beyond what the request itself contains. If you never enable AI, none of this data leaves your device.

Weather

To show forecasts for a trip, Packerly uses Apple’s WeatherKit with the trip’s coordinates. This lookup is handled by Apple and is used only to display weather for that place and time.

Notifications

Departure reminders, Final Sweep, and Doorstep nudges are scheduled as local notifications on your device. They are not sent from a server and do not report back to us.

This website

This site uses Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which are cookieless and do not build advertising profiles or track you across sites. We use them only to understand aggregate page performance and traffic.

Children

Packerly is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the effective date above and, for material changes, note it in the app or on this page.
